Department of Medicine - Day 1

Hey  people! Fasting and blogging don't really work well. So , here is one after a break. First day at Osmania General Hospital was so typical. The moment I enter the hospital , I see a corpse . Half a dozen people crying . Surprisingly , Like a cold blooded creature I moved ahead .  After collecting my unit order , I moved towards the wards . The filthy path with  annoying arthropods and bad odour.I find a familiar face yet again ! Having  A familiar person your co intern is such a luxury . You have somebody to laugh along . You have somebody to share a bad experience.  Both of us ran to check vitals. Nerve wreck, your ears don't work . No systole , no diastole . Hell yeah , I have Littman's but what if my ears stop listening to the roz ka BP song. What was new? Checking RBS ,   memorising the room no.s for all the Investigation Departments (Microbiology , Pathology , Biochemistry) . Filling up Arogyashree Forms . ( Oh God ! I did it ! ) Draining

Day8 - Second Night Duty ( Part 1)

Hey all ! Each day holds a surprise. But only if we expect it  can we see , hear , or feel it when it comes to us . It opens new space in your heart , where we celebrate , welcome new people in our lives.   The best and the worst thing about night duty is you are by your own discretion . But thats when you make memories and use the IQ you have! To start with ,it was just a regular day with moderate work load . A conversation with a colleague of mine made me realise that I had not utilised Alternate Sunday Day off feature at the Fever hospital . To fuel up the misery , I would have to be doing Night duty on the First Day of Ramadan followed by next day Outpatient and Emergency Outpatient cases. So , the impromptu decision was to try , request and reschedule my night shift. The attender who does it ,took a leave the same day. Till date KG to PG , I have had the history of dragging a friend to be a sidekick for all the administrative department . But here as a transfer intern

The Migration

Hey people! I hope 2016 has treated you well. In my case it has had me go nerve wreck from January 1 itself. Migration is never easy. Its exciting. Its adventurous. Time to open the door Time to be seen Time to be heard Time to shine... Is it gonna be scary? Yes. Is it gonna be easy ? No. Is it thats gonna be awkward initially? Probably. And know what? Thats how we grow in life. I'm excited about this huge possibility of what could happen if I just risked it out of going out there. Its not even an option anymore , that I had to sit an dwell over for days and months.  Happy people compete with themselves. They don’t limit themselves. Opening your mind is the best thing you can do because it takes you to a positive state where you have the power to achieve everything you desire.  Its happening , its the hardest , yet the most effective way that I know of making sure of who I am .  And you , the one reading this would have no cl

Energy Boost

Hey! Positive energy is what it all takes to go ahead. Once you hold yourself accountable and responsible for the way you choose to respond to something, you connect with yourself on a deeper level.  When you are connected to yourself on a deeper level, you don’t get knocked off your center as easily. Place yourself in situations that boost your own energies.  Does this person make you feel good? Do you make that person feel good? You are worthy of a brilliant experience and it is time to realize that fact.   Learning to protect yourself against other people’s energies starts with self-love.  Remember that you are worth of happiness and peace, it’s ok to say no. and you are the author of your own energetic state. How you feel is 100% your own responsibility.  The universe is sending people into your life to test us. The perception we have of ourselves is greater than the perception others have of us. You are not a victim, nobody has power over you.  Consider how y

Day 5: First Night Duty

Hey! First night duty is exciting.  It gets better if you have a familiar person posted with you .  So after a hectic morning shift , our second shift started. Crazy patients for dehydration in the emergency OP .  The dogbite cases are another highlight of Fever Hospital. The OP is never ending . In Emergency OP it was like offering  Candies to the kids crying.  The people who had 2 episodes of motions refused to go without medication , so we had to make a compound prescription to  send them away. Pressurised admission Abusive patient I might sound blatantly loud on my blog but as a person / doctor , you find me quite polite . *Claps* At 11:30pm, walked in a patient who had several episodes of nausea , vomiting . The thing with patients at Government run hospitals is that they  try every other *Nuska* before landing here . He had taken medications for 1 day for typhoid , and the fever had not subsided. Yes , he belongs to a planet where typhoid  feve
